* AGRICULTURE: Reserve Bank of India Deputy Governor M.K. Jain has exhorted banks to look at
innovations in their agricultural financing models, with an aim to support more sustainable projects.
* AVIATION: Zurich Airport AG has won the bid to develop and manage the new international greenfield airport in Jewar, Greater Noida.
-The Airports Authority of India has recommended the Centre to privatise airports in Amritsar,
Varanasi, Bhubaneswar, Indore, Raipur and Trichy.
* ECONOMY: Putting a strong defence of the GDP data released on Friday, Economic Affars Secretary Atanu Chakraborty said GDP growth bottomed out in the quarter ended September, and the economy will pick up from Oct-Dec.
-Former Reserve Bank of India governor C. Rangarajan has said there is a need to re-look the current
way state-owned banks are recapitalised by the government.
* RAILWAYS: The initial public offering of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corp was not underpriced, Railways Minister Piyush Goyal said.
* REGULATORY: SEBI has said a debt exchange-traded fund and index fund will need to have at least eight issuers, with no single issuer having more than 15% weight in the index.
* REAL ESTATE: Global fund managers such as Blackstone and Brookfield are in talks with Mumbaibased Wadhwa Group to buy a stake in the key office portfolio of the realtor in Bandra-Kurla Complex.
* TAXATION: Goods and services tax collections rose 6.0% on year to 1.035 trln rupees in November, the finance ministry said.
