Pre-Session: Sensex, Nifty likely to open in red on Friday

Domestic bourses are expected to start the day in red on Friday. A major event investors will track today will be the meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to finalise a second stimulus package. According to reports, the upcoming package will again be aimed at the urban and rural poor; other disadvantaged sections of society; MSMEs; and some of the worst-affected sectors.
Besides that, market participants will also track the global cues, coronavirus newsflow, Rupee's trajectory, and oil price movement.
Further, Mindtree is slated to announce its March quarter results. The company is expected to take a hit on most of its verticals due to disruptions caused by Covid-19 with higher impact on the company's Travel and Hospitality vertical due to travel bans and restrictions.
On Thursday, the 30-share benchmark index ended at 31863.08 up by 483.53 points or by 1.54 % and then NSE Nifty was at 9313.9 up by 126.6 points.
