Pre-Session: Strong opening on cards for Sensex, Nifty today

Domestic bourses are expected to start the day on a strong note on Monday as indicated by the SGX Nifty, which is trading over 100 points higher at 9,350 levels.
Investors will first react to ICICI Bank's results which reported a 26 per cent rise in net profit to Rs 1,221 crore in the March quarter but missed Street estimates because of higher provisioning for the coronavirus pandemic.
Besides, update on coronavirus cases and global cues will be other major triggers for the investors today.
The number of coronavirus cases jumped to 67,161 in India and the death toll rose to 2,212 on Sunday. Globally, over 41 lakh people have been infected.
On the result front, A total of 13 companies, including Godrej Properties, Wockhardt, and Motilal Oswal, are scheduled to announce their March quarter earnings.
On Friday, the 30-share benchmark index ended at 31642.7 up by 199.32 points or by 0.63 % and then NSE Nifty was at 9251.5 up by 52.45 points.
