Weekly Indian Sector Outlook -17.10.2016 - .21.10.2016


Domestic stock indices are seen consolidating next week because investors will be cautious
ahead of corporate earnings for the September quarter. Among heavyweights, Infosys and
Tata Consultancy Services have disappointed with their Jul-Sep earnings result so far.
Next week, index majors Reliance Industries, YES Bank, HCL Technologies, Wipro, and
UltraTech Cement will report their earnings for quarter ended September.

Indices are also seen consolidating due to concerns over stock valuations and dwindling fund
inflows in the market. Global volatility ahead of upcoming US presidential elections,
prospects of the Federal Reserve hiking interest rates, challenges pertaining to Brexit, and
prevailing tensions between India and Pakistan will also keep investors guarded.

Next week, the Nifty 50 is likely to find support at the 8540-point mark, and no major
downside is expected. Gains are likely to be capped at 8730 points. Yesterday, the 51-stock
index ended at 8583.40, up 10.05 points or 0.1% from the previous close, while the Sensex
ended at 27673.60, up 30.49 points or 0.1%.

We expect mid-caps to continue their rise as the broad market remains fundamentally
strong. Any fall in mid-caps is nothing but an opportunity to buying. Stocks in the
information technology sector will remain subdued because Infosys cut its sales guidance for
2016-17 (Apr-Mar), and also as earnings of other peers in the sector are seen disappointing
the market.

However, expect stocks of HCL Technologies and Tata Consultancy Services to outperform
those of Wipro and Infosys. HCL Technologies, Wipro, and Mindtree will report their earnings
for the September quarter on Friday.

The Nifty IT index is seen remaining flat to marginally negative next week, with stock
specific value buying opportunities seen emerging from a medium-to-long-term perspective.
Market participants expect companies in the pharmaceutical and cement sectors to
outperform benchmark indices next week.

USDINR ( 26-Oct-16 ) Enters in to Sell Zone and it is showing weakness. It is expected to test near Support levels 66.74 / 66.67 / 66.55 . And the upperside, it has Strong Resistance @ 66.87 upperside, it may test Resistance Levels such as 66.94 / 67.07 / 67.14 . Currently USDINR is Trading @ 66.82

 EURINR ( 26-Oct-16 ) Enters in to Sell Zone and it is showing weakness. It is expected to test near Support levels 73.53 / 73.41 / 73.19 . And the upperside, it has Strong Resistance @ 73.75 upperside, it may test Resistance Levels such as 73.87 / 74.10 / 74.22 . Currently EURINR is Trading @ 73.65

 GBPINR ( 26-Oct-16 ) Enters in to Sell Zone and it is showing weakness. It is expected to test near Support levels 81.55 / 81.28 / 81.05 . And the upperside, it has Strong Resistance @ 81.78 upperside, it may test Resistance Levels such as 82.04 / 82.27 / 82.54 . Currently GBPINR is Trading @ 81.82

 JPYINR ( 26-Oct-16 ) Enters in to Sell Zone and it is showing weakness. It is expected to test near Support levels 63.91 / 63.73 / 63.45 . And the upperside, it has Strong Resistance @ 64.19 upperside, it may test Resistance Levels such as 64.37 / 64.65 / 64.83 . Currently JPYINR is Trading @ 64.09

USD/JPY. Pair after opening at 104.24 and made low of 103.30 and was trading with sidewise the pair violated the recent swing high of 104.32 and has come down from that but any dip shall be utilized to buy the pair we as pair is forming higher low so dips shall be utilized to buy the pair

Fundamental Overview

Yen is trading at 103.93, unable to maintain the gains that were seen in the Asian session after the weak Chinese data was reported; Profit booking in the US dollar also helped the Yen appreciation. In today’s session, the US dollar would direct the Yen’s movement. We expect a stable trade until the US session and a stronger than expected US economic data could drive the Yen lower

Pair after opening at 1.2194 made a low of 1.2130, and seen some bounce from the lower levels as the pair remains oversold with RSI indicators at 26.50 on the daily time frame , the pair made a spike low of 1.1943 few days back that low is likely to hold in the pair for the near term so short term pair can bounce

Fundamental Overview

Pound is trading at 1.2241, appreciating against the backdrop of UK PM allowing the parliament to decide on the negotiations on Brexit. The British high court would decide on the Parliaments’ role in Brexit negotiations and would drive the pair’s volatility. If a delay in the negotiations is perceived by investors, we can expect a continued rally; else a quick reversal is on the cards.

US dollar index is trading at 97.63, depreciating marginally against the majors as investors favoured locking in some profits as we enter the last trading session of the week. Minutes indicating chances of a rate hike in December coupled with weak Chinese data resulted in a risk-off sentiment across markets. The Dollar gained across the board with the Dollar index moving to 98 levels and the USD/INR currency pair was no exception with the pair closing near 67 a dollar figure (on Thursday),we the pair to trade in 66.50-67 per dollar level in near term with a depreciating bias. On bonds, he says the bonds continue to consolidate around current levels, although the weak CPI data may help as market may start factoring in one more rate cut from RBI in December.
