Pre-Session: Sensex, Nifty likely to open higher; IIP, CPI data eyed

Domestic bourses are expected to start the day on positive on Monday with the SGX Nifty indicating an open above 12,000 for the Nifty. Investors will focus on quarterly earnings, macroeconomic data, global trends, and stock-specific action while rupee movement and Covid-19 cases will also be eyed.
In terms of macro data, the industrial production data for August and CPI inflation for September will be released later in the day.
On the results front, Wipro, GNA Axles, Shalby, Indbank Merchant Banking Services, Ind Bank Housing and Alexander Stamps will announced quarterly earnings today.
On Friday, the 30-share benchmark index ended at 40509.49 up by 326.82 points or by 0.81 % and then NSE Nifty was at 11914.2 up by 79.6 points.
