Pre-Session: Flat start likely for Sensex, Nifty; FTSE rebalancing eyed

Domestic bourses are expected to start the day on flat note on Friday amid subdued cues from the Asian peers.
The changes in the index constituents of FTSE will be effective from today, which are set to trigger movements in individual stocks. Key additions among Indian stocks include HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, and Kotak Mahindra Bank. Tata Consumer Products, Adani Greens, IGL, SBI cards, and Balkrishna Industries are some of the other stocks to be added.
Besides, investors will continue to track newsflow regarding India-China tensions as well as the Covid-19 trends.
On Thursday, the 30-share benchmark index ended at 38979.85 down by -323 points or by -0.82 % and then NSE Nifty was at 11516.1 down by -88.45 points.
