Pre-Session: Sensex, Nifty likely to open in red on Friday

Indian equity indices are expected to start the day on negative note on Friday amid weak cues from the global peers.
Besides these, market participants will today focus on stock-specific moves, Covid-19 related newsflow, foreign fund flow and the Rupee's trajectory.
Further, the 15th Finance Commission is expected to meet today to discuss the dwindling economic growth, tax collection, GST compensation to states, revenue deficit grant and fiscal consolidation.
On the result front, a total of 68 companies including Nalco, Future Retail, and Jubilant Life Sciences, are scheduled to announce their June quarter earnings today.
On Thursday, the 30-share benchmark index ended at 38990.94 down by -95.09 points or by -0.24 % and then NSE Nifty was at 11527.45 down by -7.55 points.
