23/06/2020 08:36
Domestic bourses are expected to start the day higher on Tuesday as indicated by the SGX Nifty, amid mixed global cues. Investors will continue to monitor the India-China standoff, and trend in Covid-19 cases while the earnings announcements will result in stock-specific movements. On the result front, a total of 78 companies, including Asian Paints, Bank of Baroda, and Berger Paints, are scheduled to announce their March quarter earnings today.
Moody's on Monday estimated the India's economic growth to contract 3.1 per cent in 2020 after taking into account disruptions due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It also said that clashes with China on the border suggest rising geopolitical risks in the Asian region.
Meanwhile, Fitch Ratings expects the government to come out with another round of fiscal stimulus package, worth about 1 per cent of GDP in the coming months.
On Monday, the 30-share benchmark index ended at 34911.32 up by 179.59 points or by 0.52 % and then NSE Nifty was at 10311.2 up by 66.8 points.
