Pre-Session: Sensex, Nifty set to open higher amid firm global cues

Domestic bourses are expected to start the day in green on Tuesday on the back of a rally in other global markets. The SGX Nifty is up around 170 points from yesterday's close and is indicating an open at around 9,980 levels for the Nifty today.
However, the rapidly increasing Covid-19 cases in India might cap the gains. In that regard, investors will track Prime Minister Narendra Modi's virtual meet with chief ministers today for any headline announcements.
On the result front, today, a total of 25 companies, including HPCL, NMDC, and Ipca Labs are scheduled to report their March quarter earnings.
On Monday, the 30-share benchmark index ended at 33228.8 down by -552.09 points or by -1.63 % and then NSE Nifty was at 9813.7 down by -159.2 points.
