Pre-Session: Gap-up opening likely for Sensex, Nifty on Monday

Domestic bourses are expected to make a gap up opening today amid firm global cues. Besides, the reopening of hotels, restaurants, malls, and places of worship from today after 75 days of lockdown might also aid sentiment.
And even though India looks to gradually open its economy, there's no respite on the Covid-19 front as India registered its highest single-day spike of cases on Sunday, with 10,864 new infections taking the country's tally to 2.57 lakh. The death toll rose to 7,207, according to Worldometer. As such, developments related to the spread of Covid-19 infections will remain a key concern for investors.
Reliance Industries will once again be in focus today after the conglomerate announced 1.16 per cent stake sale in Jio Platforms to Abu Dhabi Investment Authority for Rs 5,683.50 crore.
On the result front, a total of 19 companies, including Titan, PVR, and Abbot India are scheduled to announce their March quarter results.
On Friday, the 30-share benchmark index ended at 34287.24 up by 306.54 points or by 0.9 % and then NSE Nifty was at 10142.15 up by 113.05 points.
